Literacy Support
Families who book a regular weekly literacy session for a school term can choose to pay for the term as a lump sum, calculated according to the number of sessions in the term.
If a child begins during the middle of a term, the term fee will be calculated on a pro-rata basis according to the remaining sessions.
Families who prefer not to pay for the full term upfront may instead choose to pay weekly or monthly. The payment arrangement will be agreed upon when the regular session time is booked.
Invoices will be issued by email and payment is made by direct bank transfer.
Payment is due by the date stated on the invoice. Please use the invoice number as the payment reference.
A regular weekly session reserves that particular time for your child each week. Payment arrangements do not guarantee that a session can be rescheduled if your child is unable to attend.
Art Sessions
Art sessions are booked and paid for by the term. A place in the group is reserved for your child for the duration of the term.
Payment is required by the date stated on the invoice to confirm your child's place.
-
Regular attendance is encouraged as it allows children to develop familiarity, confidence and continuity in their learning.
If your child is unwell
Please let me know as soon as possible if your child is unable to attend due to illness.
For literacy support, I am happy to offer one make-up session per term where a child has missed a session due to illness. The replacement session will be arranged at a mutually suitable time and is subject to my availability.
Additional missed sessions cannot normally be made up and will remain payable.
For art sessions: Missed sessions cannot normally be made up or refunded, as places are reserved within a small group for the duration of the term.
Other absences
If your child is unable to attend for a reason other than illness, please provide as much notice as possible.
Regular literacy sessions remain payable when a child is absent, as the session time has been reserved specifically for them.
If you know in advance that your child will be unable to attend a particular session, please let me know when booking where possible.
If I am unwell
If I am unable to provide a scheduled session due to illness or another unforeseen circumstance, I will contact you as soon as possible.
For individual literacy sessions, I will either offer a suitable replacement time or provide a refund for the missed session if a replacement cannot be arranged.
For art sessions, I will make every reasonable effort to arrange a replacement session where possible. If a replacement cannot be provided, the missed session will be refunded.

Hannah's Paper Daisies is a calm learning environment where children are expected to treat others, themselves, the learning space and materials with care and respect.
I understand that children may experience frustration, anxiety, overwhelm or difficult emotions during learning. These responses are approached with patience and understanding.
Physical aggression, threats, deliberate damage to property or behaviour that creates an unsafe environment will not be accepted.
If a child's behaviour becomes unsafe or significantly disrupts a session, I may need to pause or end the session and contact their parent or carer.
Where ongoing behaviour makes it difficult to provide a safe and appropriate learning environment, I reserve the right to decline or discontinue services. I will always aim to discuss concerns with parents or carers and, where appropriate, work together to determine whether the service is suitable for their child.
Parents and carers are responsible for informing me of any relevant behavioural, emotional, developmental or learning needs that may affect their child's participation in sessions. This allows me to consider whether I can provide an appropriate and safe learning environment for their child.
-
Hannah's Paper Daisies provides educational and creative learning support. Sessions are not intended to replace psychological, counselling, medical or therapeutic services.
I welcome children with a wide range of learning needs and understand that children may have different experiences of school and learning. Where a child's needs fall outside the scope of the services I can safely and appropriately provide, I may recommend that families seek additional support from a suitably qualified professional.
My priority is to provide a learning environment where children can feel safe, respected and encouraged to develop their skills and confidence.
-
If you have any questions about these policies or are unsure whether Hannah's Paper Daisies would be a suitable fit for your child, please get in touch before booking. I am always happy to have a conversation about your child's needs and how I may be able to support them.

Child Safety & Wellbeing Policy
Hannah’s Paper Daisies
Last updated: August 2026My commitment to child safety
At Hannah’s Paper Daisies, I am committed to creating a safe, welcoming and respectful environment where children can learn, create, express themselves and feel comfortable being themselves.
I believe children have the right to feel safe, to be listened to, to have their views taken seriously and to be treated with dignity and respect.
The safety and wellbeing of children is my first priority. I am committed to taking reasonable steps to prevent abuse, harm, discrimination and neglect, and to responding appropriately to any concerns about a child's safety or wellbeing.
This policy applies to the literacy support and children's art services provided by Hannah’s Paper Daisies.
A child-centred approach
I aim to make children active participants in their learning and in decisions that affect them.
I will:
listen to children and take their concerns seriously
encourage children to ask questions and express their opinions
respect children's individual personalities, strengths, interests and learning needs
support children to communicate when something feels uncomfortable or unsafe
provide learning experiences that are appropriate to a child's age, abilities and individual circumstances
recognise and respect differences in culture, family background, identity, disability, ability and experience
build positive, respectful relationships with children
work with parents and carers as partners in supporting children's learning, safety and wellbeing.
Creating a safe and inclusive environment
Hannah’s Paper Daisies is committed to providing an environment in which children feel welcome and included.
I do not tolerate:
bullying
discrimination
humiliating or degrading treatment
threatening or intimidating behaviour
harassment
behaviour that deliberately excludes or shames a child.
I will make reasonable adjustments where appropriate to support children with different abilities, communication styles, sensory needs or learning needs.
I recognise that children may experience learning and school differently, and I aim to provide a calm environment where children can develop skills and confidence without being judged for difficulties they may be experiencing.
Professional boundaries
As a registered primary teacher, I understand the importance of maintaining clear and appropriate professional boundaries when working with children.
I will:
treat children with respect and dignity
use appropriate, encouraging and age-appropriate language
maintain appropriate physical boundaries
avoid unnecessary physical contact
respect a child's personal space and boundaries
communicate appropriately and transparently with parents and carers
avoid private or inappropriate communication with children through personal social media
maintain appropriate confidentiality while recognising that information relating to a child's safety may need to be shared where required or permitted by law
never ask a child to keep an inappropriate secret from their parent, carer or another trusted adult.
I will not use physical punishment, humiliating language, threats or deliberately frightening behaviour.
Physical safety
I will take reasonable steps to maintain a safe physical environment for children attending Hannah’s Paper Daisies.
This includes considering:
safe access and exit from the premises
emergency procedures and evacuation
safe use and storage of art materials and equipment
potential hazards such as sharp tools, electrical equipment, cords and trip hazards
allergies and relevant medical conditions
accessibility and individual needs
appropriate supervision
safe arrival and departure procedures.
Children will not be given access to materials or equipment that are unsuitable for their age or ability.
One-to-one sessions
Some services provided by Hannah’s Paper Daisies may involve individual sessions between Hannah and a child.
I recognise the additional responsibility involved in providing one-to-one services to children.
Where reasonably practicable, sessions will be conducted in an environment that allows appropriate visibility and access and does not unnecessarily isolate the child or the adult.
Parents and carers will be provided with appropriate information about sessions, and communication regarding the child's learning and attendance will occur through the parent or carer.
Online safety
Where technology or online resources are used as part of a session, I will take reasonable steps to ensure that they are age-appropriate and used safely.
I will not use personal social-media accounts to communicate privately with children.
Photographs, videos or recordings of children will not be taken or used for promotional purposes without appropriate permission from a parent or carer.
Responding to concerns and disclosures
If a child tells me about something that makes them feel unsafe, or if I become concerned about a child's safety or wellbeing, I will:
remain calm and listen
take the child seriously
allow the child to speak in their own words
avoid leading questions or attempting to investigate what has happened
not promise to keep information secret
explain, where appropriate, that I may need to tell another adult who can help keep them safe
record relevant information as soon as reasonably practicable
seek appropriate advice and make any report or notification required by law.
I will not attempt to conduct my own investigation into an allegation of abuse or harm.
Where there is an immediate danger to a child or another person, immediate safety will take priority and emergency assistance will be sought.
Concerns and complaints
Children and parents or carers are encouraged to raise concerns if they feel something is unsafe, inappropriate or does not feel right.
A concern can be raised directly with Hannah.
I will:
listen respectfully
take concerns seriously
respond appropriately and as promptly as practicable
keep appropriate records
take further action or seek advice where necessary.
A child or family will not be disadvantaged for raising a genuine concern.
Privacy and confidentiality
Information about children and families will be treated respectfully and stored securely.
I will collect only information that is reasonably necessary to provide the service and to support the child's safety and learning.
Information will be handled in accordance with the Hannah’s Paper Daisies Privacy Policy and applicable legal requirements.
Confidentiality does not prevent information from being shared where this is necessary to protect a child or another person, or where disclosure is required or permitted by law.
Suitability and screening
Hannah’s Paper Daisies is currently operated solely by Hannah Crawshaw.
Hannah is a registered Victorian primary school teacher and is subject to the professional requirements that apply to registered teachers.
If employees, contractors or volunteers are engaged in the future, appropriate screening, suitability checks, references, supervision and child-safety expectations will be considered before they commence working with children.
Child safety culture
I am committed to continually reflecting on and improving the way Hannah’s Paper Daisies supports children's safety and wellbeing.
I will consider children's and families' feedback and will review my practices when circumstances change, concerns arise or relevant requirements are updated.
Review of this policy
This policy will be reviewed periodically and whenever there is a significant change to the services, premises, people involved in the business or relevant child-safety requirements.
